Notes from BruceDVDs:

'Rockin Ass in Mineapolis' from ScratchMonkey/CTC brings the Twin Cities VFC show to DVD in the form of an outstanding screen shot video.

Giant plasma/LCD screens were used instead of the matrix types seen on previous Springsteen tours and the resulting clarity is amazing. There is none of the pixilation or glare from stage lights that normally affects screen shot videos. The contrast is a little low and there is a faint green hue. Nevertheless, the tripod-steady and dead centre image gives the illusion of pro-shot footage. There are even a few wide-angle shots from the arena cameramen to compliment the usual head-and-shoulders views. The dubbed audio comes from a very good audience recording.

The performance is one of the best of the tour. Among many highlights, the stand-out has to be the supremely cool duet on 'All Along the Watchtower' with Neil Young. Kudos should also go to ScratchMonkey for rescuing 'Rockin' in the Free World' from a damaged tape. It should be noted that the first two and last two songs of the set are missing.

Bonus clips of Bruce's guest spot with REM are also included. The package is held together with menus featuring a design in keeping with the 'ass' theme and the transfer is 16:9 non-anamorphic widescreen. This is another clear winner from ScratchMonkey/CTC and quite possibly the best quality Bruce screen shot video period.
