Just like 'The Rising' four years earlier, Bruce chose to launch his new album 'We Shall Overcome — The Seeger Sessions' by performing live on ABC's 'Good Morning America'. Once again, Bruce was up at the crack of dawn to perform from the Convention Hall in Asbury Park on the release date itself, while a taped interview was screened the day before.
This DVD from 'lamplight' only includes the two live performances (together with the brief clip of 'When the Saints Go Marching In'), so you will have to look elsewhere for the interview. The source is a DVR recording of a 4:3 digital satellite broadcast. Picture quality is very good, but there are some noticeable compression artefacts.
It's a nice enough version of the Seeger Sessions Band's TV debut, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
