Notes from info file:

This release is a curious one. It first surfaced in mp3 format from "Lincoln Park Mark" on the web in November 2010, about a year after the Auburn Hills show, being billed as a "soundboard" release. The website stated, "The highlight of this release is the complete Born To Run album performed live. But then again, any Bruce Springsteen live soundboard is already a highlight unto itself." Being that no actual live soundboard tapes have leaked out (to my knowledge) since 1993, that is a pretty big claim indeed. Also, upon listening to the 2009 tracks, you can hear the audience quite well (but no intrusively so) between the songs, and the sound is rich and full, without the sterility and thinness that is usually associated with past soundboard tapes. This would leave one to suspect it might be an excellent IEM-Audience source mix, which it very well may be, in which case it is a damn good one at that. So the actual source remains a mystery, known only to Lincoln Park Mark. After the initial "release" on the web, Lincoln Park Mark also added another supplemental bonus track for download from the 2009 Auburn Hills show, Bruce's cover of the Bob Seger classic "Ramblin’ Gamlin’ Man", in the same quality as the other tracks.

Speaking of the bonus tracks, this release also offers 4 never-before-heard-in-this-quality nuggets from 3 other shows, in very fine "soundboard" form. However, these tracks, especially the 2003 tracks from Sweden, clearly sound like a pure IEM feed do to the noticeable lack of audience and atmosphere. But they also present another mystery: Are the full shows these tracks were snipped from also sitting out there? Again, only Lincoln Park Mark knows the answer.

Interestingly enough, as I was browsing the catalog of one of my favorite "import" CD vendors some months later, I came across this title. Prior to that point, I did not believe the release existed in any other format other than the mp3s which were floating around the web. Alas, here was the release, an authentic silver-pressed "import" CD, which curiously enough omitted the extra bonus track of "Ramblin’ Gamlin’ Man" on the Social Graces label. The vendor contact I had said it was a Japanese import label, who also had a few other silvers out, most notably the album portions of The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle, Darkness On The Edge Of Town, and Born In The USA, as well the complete rehearsal shows from March 18 & March 23, 2009, in soundboard quality. The source: Lincoln Park Mark once again. I checked all over the net and as far as I could find, no silver rip existed of "Born Again"-so I could not pass it up.

So, whoever Lincoln Park Mark happens to be, I toast to you for providing us with these fine mementos of the best part of Springsteen's 2009 tour-the album shows that happened in the fall. I in turn offer to you Born Again, in lossless flac quality straight from the silver disc.

Enjoy!
