Notes from info file:

This is the best concert recording I have ever made. It is also the *first* and *only* concert recording I have ever made. (Haha, I bet you got excited for a second there! Sorry, couldn't resist...)

I know essexboy has taped and will be uploading, which is almost certainly gonna sound better than mine, and no doubt many other, better version will crop up in the future. But, i figured, what the hell, may as well upload it. I don't think you can ever have too many different recordings of a show!

Re-Master's are welcome, but please say what you did. Thanks!

The next 4 paragraphs are simply a detailed account of my first taping experience. I doubt anyone will care less, but I included it as I have come to the conclusion that taping is very fun indeed, and I want to share my first time. (Oo-er... that last part could be severly mis-interpreted... lol)

It is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be - which was entirely down to my location. I was 3rd row behind the stage, so I was very close, and there was a speaker stack hanging literally 10-20 metres from my head. If only I had been an experienced taper with some better equipment, how brilliant this could have been...

I clipped the left channel mic to my shirt, facing as directly towards the speaker as I could get it. I pointed the right channel mic out towards the arena for the crowd noise. As a result, the left channel has fairly clear music from the PA, the right channel is more echoey than the left, and just a bit quieter than the left channel.

As I said before, I wasn't expecting this to be any good, so I didn't make any effort to keep quiet - I clapped very loudly throughout a lot of the show. I didn't attempt to sing, thankfully (My singing = bleh).

There's a fair bit of the good old twat-factor in places. There's a couple of comments from my Mother (whom i took with me) which are very loud 'cos when I turned to face her, the mics were pointed directly at her mouth... oops! During 'Reason...' I had to move (twice) to let someone in and out of the aisle. and finally, During 'Livin'..' a security person walked up and down the aisle a couple of times, so I had to cover up my mics, which induced a lot of microphone noise.

Silly me managed to forget to hit the record button and miss the first 5 songs. Yeah. I know. [Homer Simpson] DOH! [/Homer Simpson] Also, the Zoom H2 has a limit where each file can only be 2 GB in size, and when that filesize is met, it start a new file... which causes about 20 seconds to be lost. Basically, that 20 seconds is cut from 'Santa Claus...'
