Lineage: Audio Technica AT-899 omnidirectional mics => Edirol R-09 => WAV => Audigy Audio Cleaning Lab => WAV => FLAC front-end (level 8)

Notes from info file:

This one was an adventure. I had just purchased my new set of AT-899 two days before this show (to go with my three-week-old Edirol R-09) and had not had the opportunity to field-test the mics before departing for Cleveland. During the opening intro notes, I realized that the levels were brickwalling already despite setting levels at the lowest-possible level ... the "high-sensitivity" setting had worked just fine for my trusty Sonics but were way too much for the AT mikes. The first 7 tracks are recorded with "Automatic Gain Control" on, which essentially smoothes out the highs and lows on a recording (similar to any Crystal Cat bootleg). When the lights came on during Reason to Believe, I was able to see to switch back to low-sensitivity and properly set levels.

As a result of this craziness, you'll find some swings in levels at the beginning of T2 and end of T8; otherwise, it sounds great.

For those who didn't read the reviews from Bakerstuff's post, this was a terrific show with a unique setlist. I think this the only show to get "Saint in the City" and "Be True" so far on the tour -- the first was fantastic and the second was (I thought) a little tentative, but it was great to see "Tunnel" and "Be True" packed together in a 1-2 punch a la 1988.

I was halfway back on the floor in line with the right speaker stack; sound quality is slightly better than the two Chicagos I posted which were taped from a similar location. I wouldn't venture to compare with Bakerstuff's excellent recording; I think mine has slightly less crowd noise, but his doesn't have the level variations mine does. Completists will probably want to grab both, and perhaps someone is enterprising enough to matrix the two sources for optimal results. I do think that from D1T9 through the end, the sound quality is as good as anything posted yet from the tour.

Feel free to post a remastered version with smoother levels (I did my best, but there are a couple points where the jump is still noticeable), but please denote what you did to the original recording.
