The Philadelphia shows have always been special to me. I was born in Philly and witnessed many 
of the now classic shows from the 70’s.  I wish I would have kept the ticket stub, as my memory 
fails me. My very first show was either October 25th or October 27, 1976. This was before the 
internet became a household word. There was no way for me to know in advance that the Bruce Springsteen 
I was expecting to see would be clean-shaven. As I watched from the nose bleed section I thought my 
eyes were playing tricks on me. But I remember going home thinking I had saw the most incredible show 
in the world.  Well, this recording and the other from the 25th prove I was right! Joe Kivak once again 
captured an amazing performance and he must have been in a prime recording position, because you won’t be 
disappointed with the sound. Mr Anonymous performed the cassette to CD transfer and I did the basic editing 
and mastering. The sound on this is not perfect, but near excellent in my opinion. I did nothing in the way 
of graphic equalizing.
