This release revisits this outstanding show from a previously un-circulated (in the torrent era) audience recording giving us a new audience perspective. Dan was unsure which taper (he narrowed it down to one of two) he got this from as there were a number of active tapers in the area during this era. On the whole it is an excellent capture, close to the stage with minimal crowd noise. The motor city crowd is treated to a unique set of encores including the first known ‘Ain’t Too Proud To Beg’ (sung as a duet with Steve) and a rarely played ‘Little Queenie’. The capture from the audience gives us a glimpse into the energy of the crowd during the encores as well as the fun occasional audience comment. From the guy who simply shows his appreciation for the recently released 'Jungleland' by tastefully yelling “beautiful” during the piano break creating a round of applause, to the group of Miami Steve fans near the taper. These are “you are there” moments and give the show a new feel very different than what you get from the soundboard recording. Thanks go to a number of folks that helped get this into your hands, those that have been in touch with Dan for years and put me in touch with him, IvannF, EarlMv and Oats1jvo. Thanks also to E from JEMS for the continued use of the NAK DR-1. The biggest thanks to Dan for making his archives available for the enjoyment of us all…please show your appreciation to Dan and all involved through your comments. MJK5510
