This would be the last show before the 4 night stand at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia putting a wrap on the first leg of the tour. Originally scheduled for the smaller 1,000 seat Minkler Auditorium, due to strong ticket demand the show was repeatedly moved to first the larger 2,000 Convocation Hall and finally to the 3,000 seat Seneca Field House. A very good version of this show has been available for some time under the title “Bring Out The Hype” from a couple of different transfers. With only one recorder source available for this date, this low gen version via Dan’s archives is full, and dynamic. There is a touch of hiss present on the slower songs, likely due to the use of the normal bias tape, but that is definitely balanced out by the rich frequencies and close to the stage capture. The taper did a very good job capturing the majority of the show on very good recording gear. All versions of the recording misses “Born To Run” and “Pretty Flamingo” along with the end and start of the songs immediately before and after… If you are familiar at all with the circulating recording then you know the tapers are enjoying themselves between songs with a number of one liners and comments. I have been able to seamlessly remove almost all instances by either copying that section from the left or right channel to the channel with the comment or cutting out seamlessly making the whole package a much more enjoyable experience. For whatever reason, the 3 minute 'She's The One' fragment was missing from Dan's version, I turned to my own archives to fill from my 3rd generation copy. This is a brilliant, dynamic recording of a brilliant, high energy performance. Highly recommended and one of the best audience recordings of the 1975 tour, we are confident this new version will become one of your go to listens for the 'Born To Run' Tour. Once again, thanks go out to a number of folks that helped put me in touch with Dan, their assistance and passion for Bruce and getting this music in your hands continues to be invaluable...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo as well as E from JEMS for the use of the NAK DR-1. The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy...feel free to show your appreciation in the comments. mjk5510 Previous DS Archives Releases: Volume 1: Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-11 Chicago, IL (1st Gen) Volume 2: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-21 Minneapolis, MN (2nd Gen) Volume 3: Bruce Springsteen 1975-08-01 Richmond, VA (Low Gen) Volume 4: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Low Gen) Volume 5: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 6: Bruce Springsteen 1975-11-01 Santa Barbara, CA (2nd Gen) Volume 7: Bruce Springsteen 1975-10-04 Detroit, MI (1st Gen Aud Un-circulated) Volume 8: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-05 Washington DC (Low Gen, presumed 2nd) Volume 9: Bruce Springsteen 1975-07-25 Kutztown, PA (Low Gen) Volume 10: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-24 Albany, NY (Un-circulated Recorder 2)
