For the full history of our obsession with this era and the back story on the "Official Audience Tapes" that made up the first five volumes of the series, please refer to the notes in Vol. One found here: http://jungleland.dnsalias.com/torrents-details.php?id=38539 Installment No. 10 is something of a bonus inclusion in the series, what we believe to be an upgrade of Miami, March 6, 1977. This incomplete tape has been in circulation for years and always sounded OK. The copy in the JEMS Archive presented as an upgrade and after mastering it is actually quite appealing. There’s a light layer of distortion and a few dropouts, especially at the start, but once the taper locks in, the quality is highly listenable. Samples provided. It’s another great ‘77 performance, but then you already knew that. Thanks yet again to M, for providing his '77 source tapes, including this extra pull from the shelf; to the folks on the Stone Pony message board whose thread sparked this series; and to mjk5510 who continues to power JEMS' post-production and torrent prep. We can’t do it without him. BK for JEMS ************************************************************************* mjk5510 post production note: As you can see under "Known Faults" there were 15 seconds of damaged tape towards the end of 'Night', we decided rather than leave as is, which was a mess, it has been patched from a source (same recorder) out of my own archives. Unfortunately, my source has a flatter sound than the low gen JEMS source. So, it's not perfect but there is now continuity instead of garbled tape.
