The Ultimate Remaster of the Ultimate Bruce Springsteen Concert! This 3-CD set presents the final upgraded needed for 
what is perhaps Bruce Springsteen's finest hour (or three) as a live performer - his incredible concert at Winterland, 
in San Francisco, CA, held on December 15, 1978. The entire 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' tour is legendary as Bruce's 
greatest stretch of shows. And while many great things can be said about the shows he gave at the Roxy in Hollywood, CA 
(7/7/78), the Agora in Cleveland, OH (8/9/78 - recently given an official release) and the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ 
(9/19/78), the performance he gave at Winterland tops them all in terms of setlist, performance and intensity. 
This show contains perhaps the definitive performances of "Prove It All Night', "The Promised Land", "Racing In The Street", 
"Point Blank", "Mona / She's The One", and, perhaps Bruce's finest single moment on stage, the gut-wrenching "Backstreets". 

As this show was originally broadcast on the radio, it spawned numerous bootlegs, both on vinyl and CD. 
The most famous of the vinyl boots, also called 'Live In The Promised Land' (which is where the artwork 
on this remaster comes from) contained an interview with Bruce from the previous day to be aired during 
the show's intermission. It was omitted on all CD issues, but is restored here in its rightful position. 
Also, for some unknown reason, Bruce's hilarious spoken intro to "Rosalita" was eliminated from the previous 
best source for this concert. This too has been reinstated. While on the subject of previous CD releases, 
I should note that ALL of them are off-speed to some degree. Some more than others. The speed has been 
corrected all around on this release. Also, for some odd reason, the disc breaks made little sense in earlier 
CD issues - either ending disc one after the first song of the second set, or ending disc two just prior to the 
final number of the second set. Bizarre! For this release, disc one contains the entire first set and the break 
between discs two and three was placed following "Point Blank" - just like the original vinyl release did! Also, 
the best sound quality tapes have been used for the entire show wherever possible. Until this show gets an 
official release (wish, hope!), this will be the definitive version of this all-time classic.
