For the story of the DS Archives please refer to Volume One of the series. We continue our journey through the DS Archives with Volume 23, once again focusing on the exceptional July 5th show at the LA Forum. This volume came as a nice surprise as I never knew more than 2 sources were available. This source has a bit of a different feel to it than the previous sources, the Millard source (Forum Heat) is up close with a fairly wide stereo spectrum. The recorder 2 source is up close but lacks a wide spectrum as well as the quiet songs being frustratingly low in volume and high in hiss. This 3rd source is not quite as close as either of the other two sources but does contain a good spectrum and is a solid recording very enjoyable listen. Samples provided. It's a nice surprise to have 3 solid captures for such a great show, after the third release there is not much more that needs to be said and I may know this show better than any other Darkness show at this point. We will revisit this show once more before we are done with this particular night... Thanks to the usual suspects that put me in touch with Dan, their assistance and passion for Bruce and getting this music in your hands continues to be invaluable...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo and my compadre Butterking from JEMS for the use of the NAK DR-01. The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy... mjk5510 Previous DS Archives Releases: Volume 01: Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-11 Chicago, IL (1st Gen) Volume 02: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-21 Minneapolis, MN (2nd Gen) Volume 03: Bruce Springsteen 1975-08-01 Richmond, VA (Low Gen) Volume 04: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Low Gen) Volume 05: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 06: Bruce Springsteen 1975-11-01 Santa Barbara, CA (2nd Gen) Volume 07: Bruce Springsteen 1975-10-04 Detroit, MI (1st Gen Aud Un-circulated) Volume 08: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-05 Washington DC (Low Gen, presumed 2nd) Volume 09: Bruce Springsteen 1975-07-25 Kutztown, PA (Low Gen) Volume 10: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-24 Albany, NY (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 11: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-21 Toronto, ON (Low Gen) Volume 12: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-29 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 13: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-30 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 14: Bruce Springsteen 1976-10-25 Philadelphia (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 15: Bruce Springsteen 1977-03-13 Towson, MD (Recorder 3 Un-circulated) Volume 16: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-27 Philadelphia (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 17: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-03 Uniondale, NY (Recorder 4 Un-circulated) Volume 18: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-23 Buffalo, NY (Low Gen Recorder 1) Volume 19: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-08 Madison (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 20: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-30 Berkeley (Low Gen) Volume 21: Bruce Springsteen 1978-09-17 New York City (Complete Audience) Volume 22: Bruce Springsteen 1978-07-29 St. Petersburg (Recorder 2)
