“Racing In The Street” Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band The Spectrum- Philadelphia August 18, 1978 Audience- Vinyl Sourced Recording Cassette?>LP>CDR> Roxio>Magix EQ>flac This one is being posted because of several requests. It’s value is more for historic reasons and by no means a major sonic upgrade Graphic equalizing was done giving it a little more punch, a few vinyl pops here and there were removed along with some of the tape warp glitches, space gaps. and fading out the end of each disc. I also created new artwork. The version I had in my collection was only 2 discs and missing a couple of songs. So, I thank Mr Anonymous for sending his 3 disc complete copy. There may still be some minor glitches throughout. Sandy seems to come from 2 different sources and the change in sound is very apparent. In spite of the original taper piecing it together, it’s still not complete. Overall, there seems to be less vinyl abrasion than the 2 disc version I had. Perhaps this was recorded from another vinyl LP set. The original tape however is the same source on both versions. One of the special moments for me was the surprise appearance of Gary Busey singing lead vocals on Rave On. I was at this very show and remember it well. The night before I had gone to the movies and was blown away by the Buddy Holly Story. I couldn’t believe that the star of the movie, that I still had fresh on my mind, was actually there singing with Bruce! The other highlight of course is when Bruce says “This is a Philadelphia Special” and goes into The Fever. I hope this recording is as enjoyable for you as it had been when it happened live!
