Volume 16 presents the second ’78 tour tape out of Dan’s archives, Volume 10’s alternate capture of the May 24th Albany show being the first. We are pleased to present another alternate recording source, this one for the May 27th Philadelphia show. With the emergence of this source we now have multiple sources for the first 4 Darkness shows. This is a solid upgrade to the more common source, recorded much closer to the stage, the taper did an excellent job capturing the complete show with only a small amount of dialogue and the last 4 seconds of “You Can’t Sit Down” missing. The missing bits have all been patched with the Recorder 1 source. There are some minor fidelity issues here and there, the occasional slight muffled sound due to microphone placement and some sharpness to the cymbals and Bruce’s “s” sounds likely from the limitations of the recording device. Taken as a whole these are minor issues that we feel do not take much away from an excellent listening experience. Thanks to the usual suspects that put me in touch with Dan, their assistance and passion for Bruce and getting this music in your hands continues to be invaluable...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo and my compadre Butterking from JEMS for the use of the NAK DR-01. The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy...please show your appreciation in the comments. mjk5510 Previous DS Archives Releases: Volume 01: Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-11 Chicago, IL (1st Gen) Volume 02: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-21 Minneapolis, MN (2nd Gen) Volume 03: Bruce Springsteen 1975-08-01 Richmond, VA (Low Gen) Volume 04: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Low Gen) Volume 05: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 06: Bruce Springsteen 1975-11-01 Santa Barbara, CA (2nd Gen) Volume 07: Bruce Springsteen 1975-10-04 Detroit, MI (1st Gen Aud Un-circulated) Volume 08: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-05 Washington DC (Low Gen, presumed 2nd) Volume 09: Bruce Springsteen 1975-07-25 Kutztown, PA (Low Gen) Volume 10: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-24 Albany, NY (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 11: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-21 Toronto, ON (Low Gen) Volume 12: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-29 Santa Monica (Low Gen) Volume 13: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-30 Santa Monica (Low Gen) Volume 14: Bruce Springsteen 1976-10-25 Philadelphia (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 15: Bruce Springsteen 1977-03-13 Towson (Recorder 3 Un-circulated)
