Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Live August 11, 1981 Joe Louis Arena Detroit, Michigan This is a tape transfer I did recently and just finished. The quality is not very good but still listenable. Fair amount of crowd noise and a little distant. The other problem with the tape is that the low end was all distorted, especially the bass drum. I have attempted to fix it, and it sounds somewhat better. This probably happened because the particular cassette I transferred this from has an extended high end and output. I am pretty sure this is a different source than the JEMS release, or a very bad copy of it. If it is a different source, it has not been circulated. I only had this one cassette of the show, I am not sure if the taper did record the whole show. Though after "Trapped" you can hear the very beginning of "Two Hearts" but it cuts out. It runs from the beginning to near the end of the first set. "Thunder Road" gets off to a rough start with a few skips during the harmonica intro and one pitch issue. I fixed it up the best I could and it is better than it was. The taper eventually settles in and those problems disappear very quickly. I did some light editing to minimize the distortion (it's still there) and increase the volume. Anyways, this is one for the completists. There is a much better source for the show that was released by JEMS and covers the whole show. So don't download this looking for fantastic sound.
