1981-06-02 London (and 1981-05-26 Brighton) - Hungry Heart vinyl LP transfer

I have been collaborating with hrubesh on a series of vinyl transfers from my collection where I send him a wav file for each side and then he packages the files and deals with the artwork from scans I also send. When I checked the shows I found they were different sources to the circulating versions but both incomplete. I was originally going to upload as anniverary releases but events and workload got in the way. 

One of the events that generated additional work was that hobbes4444 has been going through his DAT archive and I was sent his transfer of the Brighton show because I am now the Brighton expert. I have to admit I have not listened to this show much but I was in a position to immediatly verify that the hobbes4444 version is the complete source used for the vinyl version. The hobbes4444 transfer is also better quality and in my opinion superior to the circulating Brighton source. The hobbes4444 version will follow this upload.

This transfer covers 2 shows from a 3 LP set. The first 4 sides are the London show and the final 2 sides for Brighton.

Cover uses the Hungry Heart single cover slightly modified. Labels are plain white though some sides had a written number. Matrix BS 326 with a letter from a to f for each side. Scans of the cover and side c label included. Thanks to hrubesh for help making the cover scans presentable.

The London tracks are far superior to the circulating version of the show but are marred by sibilance for example on Follow That Dream. I tried a couple of other record decks and cartridges but the sibilance was on all of them. Only a few of the tracks flow into the next so this release is really a set of edited highlights with some incomplete tracks.

LPs were transferred using a Linn LP12/Ekos/AT-F7

Transfer used the phono input of an external Furutech ADL GT40a analogue to digital converter set in Windows for 24/96 transfer. All other sound devices disabled.

Recorded using iZotope RX3 Advanced with enabled ASIO ADL driver as internal 32bit float/96000 Hz wav file and saved as a raw transfer.

Declicking and normalisation done using iZotope RX3 Advanced. Beginning and end of some lp sides trimmed using the delete selection function in RX3.

Files split using CDWav.

Resampled to 16/44 using iZotope RX3 Advanced

Converted to flac using TLH.
