Happy Birthday To Me

Apologies for the title, but 10-26 is my birthday.

He's a very nice show I came across digging through the archive. The date drew my attention, obviously. The original taper did an excellent job, so thanks to markp. Like a lot of the stuff in the archive, I grabbed it but never listened to it. The BITUSA tour really wasn't one of my favorites and the archive is really for my listening and viewing pleasure in my old age, which is rapidly approaching, like it is for many of Bruce's original fans.

Those familiar with this show will recogines the somewhat rawness of the performance. The recording had a resonance to it between 80 and 140 hz, causing a distortion in the bass, especially when the volume is turned up - which is mandatory when listening to Bruce. I threw it in the remaster machine to see what I could do with it and was able to enhance the rest of the performance while minimizing the resonance in the bass. A bit of it still remains. I don't know if it was the type of mics used or the venue or both. What came out of the exercise was this remaster. What better way to say "Happy Birthday" than to share, right? So why wait. Especially in these times, when BITUSA is more relevant then ever.
