So the story goes, Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with a Nakamichi Mic and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them. Joe's master now gives us four separate recordings from this show. To my ears, it's easily an upgrade to the other three tapes. There are a couple of flaws. Joe flips between Roulette and Cover Me. It also sounds like he had a technical issue at the ending of "Hungry Heart". There is a dropout and then he misses all of Glory Days. No worries, with three other tapes in circulation, a good patch was available (see notes below). As for the show, I'll let a long time fan share their assessment of the Rosemont Tunnel of Love shows. "The 16th and 17th were the two worst Bruce shows I saw of all the shows I've seen, at the height of his marital problems, seemed like he was just going through the paces to get them over with.... second night was a little better than the first night. Only time if someone else I was into was in town my buddy and I might have sold our tickets..." I didn't get the same sentiment listening to the show. Maybe it was something you had to witness in person. Thanks to Tape Man Joe for recording and sharing his tapes and G for transferring the files. 01.TUNNEL OF LOVE 02.BE TRUE 03.ADAM RAISED A CAIN 04.TWO FACES 05.ALL THAT HEAVEN WILL ALLOW 06.DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN 07.ROULETTE 08.COVER ME 09.BRILLIANT DISGUISE 10.SPARE PARTS 11.WAR 12.BORN IN THE U.S.A. 13.TOUGHER THAN THE REST 14.SHE'S THE ONE 15.YOU CAN LOOK (BUT YOU BETTER NOT TOUCH) 16.I'M A COWARD 17.I'M ON FIRE 18.ONE STEP UP 19.PART MAN, PART MONKEY 20.BACKSTREETS 21.DANCING IN THE DARK 22.LIGHT OF DAY 23.BORN TO RUN 24.HUNGRY HEART 25.GLORY DAYS 26.LOVE ME TENDER 27.ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) 28.DETROIT MEDLEY 29.RAISE YOUR HAND Known faults: Tape flip between Roulette and Cover Me.No music lost. Recorder Three: 2011 Two Of Us Master-via Flynn From Brucbase WikiDot: First change in the first set of the tour to date with "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" replacing "Seeds". "Part Man, Part Monkey" includes "Love Is Strange" in the outro. Previously ever-present "Walk Like A Man" also dropped, replaced by the tour premiere of "Backstreets". "Born To Run" is solo acoustic. "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" includes an Irish jig in honour of St. Patrick's Day in Chicago. "Detroit Medley", which includes "I Hear A Train" and "Sweet Soul Music", also has a rather special ending with the closing vamp Elvis used to end his shows, before the band returns for "Raise Your Hand".
