“Buenos Aires Amnesty” Fanatic Records Remaster Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band With Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman & Youssor N Dour River Plate Stadium- Buenos Aires, Argentina October 15, 1988 Audience Recording Wav>Roxio/Magix/CD Wav Editor>flac I dusted off this audience recording by request and looking at the artwork I originally created I thought about my old friend Jan Joosse and his JEA Treeservice. Years ago Jan had asked me if I was interested in creating artwork for his site. At the time Fanatic Records was fairly new and I wanted to help out. So I began creating covers for Jan for the Rising Tour. In addition, the JEA logo that became so recognizable was something Jan had asked me to create for him. He wanted something unique for his website. Jan and I lost touch after he began having problems with the website and for a time had it shut down. I didn’t find out until last year that he had passed away. So with that said I would like to dedicate this recording to the memory of Jan Joosse, a man who generously gave so much to the Bruce Springsteen community. A couple of tracks were tweaked and I gave the artwork a face lift. So here is the Human Rights Now! Tour for Amnesty International. The sound is very good for the most part. “Born To Run” is missing, but it’s also missing from the DVD version and other circulating versions. It was great to revisit this recording and hear Bruce & The E Street Band collaborating with other artists. There’s a duet of the “River” with Sting. On “Chimes of Freedom” and Bob Marley’s “Get Up Stand Up” the other members of this cause join Bruce onstage for a historical moment of the last day for the tour. Enjoy!
