As a companion to the “Gentleman of Verona” DVD, we are also releasing an
audio CD of the same show. Unfortunately, as with the DVD, there is no
soundboard recording of the full concert, so while we have used the DVD
audience/video mix soundtrack for discs 2 and 3, the first CD, i.e. covering
the section missing from the DVD, is taken from the audience recording that
we used for the mix with original video source. As you will hear this is
markedly inferior to the second two discs but has been included for the sake
of offering a complete show.

The actual sound quality of the audience tape is pretty good but it is
marred by high levels of background crowd noise. As explained on the DVD
info, the second two disks are sourced from the same audience recording
mixed with the audio soundtrack from the video of the show, both to add
atmosphere and to hide the shortcomings of the original video source, which
suffered from some distortion as a result of high recording levels.
