Recorder 2 is complete but suffers from some flaws and the sound quality is the weakest among the three sources. Recorder 3 is complete and is the best among the three sources. -------------------------------------------------- Known faults: There were two little dropouts in the middle if "Growin' Up" (at 2:11), one of about 6 ms and one of about 120 ms but I fixed them. The dropouts are no more noticeable. There's a very slight glitch after "This Hard Land" during the clapping (at 5:03). It could be the result of re-joining the recording if it was split at some point onto 2x60m DAT. It occurs around the 2:02:00 mark which would be where a 60min or 120min DAT would end. -------------------------------------------------- Notes: This is an audience recording from the 24 Nov 1996 show in Asbury Park, NJ. This source (recorder 3) has long been in circulation on CD-R, but all copies I came across came from MiniDisc trade, which made them lossy. They also have a small cut between "Mansion On The Hill" and "Wild Billy's Circus Story" and a cut between "This Hard Land" and "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)". There may be other cuts and flaws but I didn't want to spend more time identifying problems in a copy that will now become redundant. This fresh DAT transfer by hobbes4444 is a significant improvement. Not only it is lossless, but it also doesn't have the few cuts that were on the CD-R trade copies of this source. In comparison with the two other sources (recorder 1 and recorder 2), this source complete, has virtually no flaws, and the sound quality is the best. There's some clapping and screaming between songs, but overall this is an excellent recording. The DAT came via trade, and given that it is lossless, it must be a clone that originates from the DAT master. This show fits on two audio CDs. Recommend disc separation is between "Born In The U.S.A." and "The Ghost Of Tom Joad". Enjoy, Eddy (02 Jun 2016)
