JOHNNY 99 from brucedvds.net: --------------------- As the Rising Tour drew to a close in New York, this 30-minutes DVD captures Bruce and the E-Street Band Working hard before the shows to rehearse songs, some that would become tour debuts. Bruce is in playful mood, dancing with Patti during "Man's Job", and if you thought the speech before "Back In Your Arms Again" during the final show of the tour was improvised you'd be wrong. Reports suggest "New York City Serenade" and "If I Should Fall Behind" formed part of the soundcheck on the first night, and that "I Wish I Were Blind" was played during the final soundcheck: if true, none of these have been captured here. The DVD looks to be show from halfway back, to the left of the stage on 1 October and the right of the stage on 4 October. Mostly stageshot, with the odd screenshot, it is mostly centered on Bruce but captures other band members as he moves around the stage. The audio is also very clear and the production is good, although the menus make a couple of errors: they make reference to 2004 and the seconbd "Johnny 99" is taken from the final night rather than the penultimate night. Another release in TattooDads quest for uber material, this DVD is very welcome and a good insight into the preparatiuon that goes into shows. Practise, practise, practise. ---------------------
