The first four issues of the Japanese "Born To Run" CD album are:
- Issue #1: catalogue number 35DP 21, released in 1983
- Issue #2: catalogue number 35DP 21, released in 1985
- Issue #3: catalogue number 35DP 358, released on 02 Apr 1986
- Issue #4: catalogue number 25DP 5242, released on 21 Sep 1988
Japanese releases have the price printed on the artwork and/or obi. In January 1989 VAT was introduced in Japan, and since then it became legally required that two prices be printed on the obi: the net price excluding VAT and the total price including a fixed 5% VAT. Therefore there are two versions of issue #4 of "Born To Run": the one from before January 1989 has only one price on the obi and the one from after January 1989 has two prices on the obi.
