PINK CADILLAC

Live 01 Sep 2001 version

Well you may think I'm foolish
For the foolish things I do
You may wonder how come I love you
When you get on my nerves like you do
Well baby you know you bug me
There ain't no secret 'bout that
Come on over here and hug me
And baby I'll spill the facts
Well honey it ain't your money
Yeah, I got plenty of that
I love you for your pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back
Oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money
On a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what it feels like in the back
Of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac

Well, way back in the Bible
Temptation always come along
There's always somebody tempting
Somebody into doing something they know is wrong
Well they tempt you with silver
And they tempt you, yeah, with gold
And they tempt you with the pleasure
That the flesh does surely hold
Well Eve tempted Adam with an apple
But man I know better than that
I know it was her pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back
Oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money
On a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what you feel like in the back
Of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac

Meanwhile...
I was still thinking...

Now some folks say it's too big
Uses too much gas
Some folks say it's too old
And that it goes too fast
But my love is bigger than a Honda
It's bigger than a Subaru
Man, ah there ain't but one thing
And one thing that will do
Anyway you could lie it
The only thing that I could fear is that
I'd be attacked in your pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back
Oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what you feel like in the back
Of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac
Yeah!

The Temple Of Soul

"The Temple Of Soul" is the name that Clarence Clemons has given for his on-tour dressing room. He told Backstreets magazine that "it's a place that's created. It's an atmosphere that's created, where we can go and have fun and come out with something rewarding. The Temple Of Soul is a spiritual place, it's not like most dressing rooms. Mostly I meditate and get treatments, stretching and stuff, before I go on stage. It's a pretty sane place, and we just try to take that energy on stage." In the early 2000s, Clemons would give the name "The Temple Of Soul" to a group he put together with producer Narada Michael Walden.
