Dave Prater:I like it like that
Do it!
Sam Moore:That's all right

Moore and Prater:Soothe me, baby, soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me

Sam Moore:One more time, Dave!

Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is

And how I used to roam
Oh, since I met this baby of mine
And all I do is stay at home

Have them, big and small
Since I met this baby of mine
I don't know no other girl at all

Bruce Springsteen's Version

Bruce Springsteen occasionally performed SOOTHE ME live between 1975 and 1977. He also used a snippet of the song in A LOVE SO FINE during the Born To Run Tour, TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT during The Reunion Tour, and MARY'S PLACE during The Rising Tour.

Though the song was originally released by Simms Twins in 1961 (see the original Simms Twins version), it is Sam & Dave's live 1967 recording of the song that Bruce Springsteen was likely familiar with.
