A little girl, I settled down
In a pretty little house on the edge of town
At least we were married and we swore that we would never part
Then little by little we drifted — each other's hearts

Well at first I thought it was just restlessness
That would fade as time went by and our love grew deep

Well she asked if I remembered the letters I wrote
