The above lyrics are for an acoustic home demo of YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME recorded at Thrill Hill Recording (Springsteen's home studio) in Colts Neck, NJ, sometime between January and April 1982. This is a single long take of Springsteen working on the song.

Circulating Versions

Three takes of YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME are in circulation among collectors. They all are acoustic home demos recorded at Springsteen's home in Colts Neck, NJ, sometime between January and April 1982. They may have even been recorded on the same day. Home demo version 1 and home demo version 2 are long takes of Springsteen working on the song. Home demo version 3 is just a riffs and harmonies take.

Two band rehearsal takes of YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME recorded in April 1982 at Springsteen's home studio in Colts Neck, NJ, are in very limited circulation. According to Brucebase Brucebase, the song was still in the early stages of development. The first take is just the opening and first verse and the second take is most of the song, although the majority of lyrics are unclear.

In his 2012 book E Street Shuffle: The Glory Days Of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Clinton Heylin reveals that a two-inch tape of YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME appears in Sony's logs of Bruce Springsteen's studio sessions. The tape is undated, but is on the same reel as WAGES OF SIN, so probably it was recorded on the same day, on 10 May 1982 at The Power Station in New York City, NY. This studio version YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME has not surfaced among collectors.

This home demo version of YOUR LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME can be found on The Lost Masters Vol. 10 (Labour Of Love) [track 18] bootleg. The son is titled "Your Love (Is All Around Me Now)" on the bootleg.
