The above lyrics are for the live 07 Jul 1978 performance of FOR YOU at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, CA, during the Darkness On The Edge Of Town Tour. The song was played in its full-band album-style arrangement.

This concert was originally broadcast live on the now-defunct local KMET-FM radio station, and later became one of the main source concerts for the Live/1975-85 box set which includes eight recordings from this show. FOR YOU was initially considered for inclusion on the box set, but didn't make the final cut. Instead, it was released on the B-side of the Fire (Live) European single in 1987.

Official Releases

The live 07 Jul 1978 version of FOR YOU was released on the B-side of the Fire (Live) single in April 1987 in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. In North America and the Philippines, the single had an alternate configuration with INCIDENT ON 57TH STREET [live 29 Dec 1980] on the B-side instead. A 5-track 12-inch EP version of the Fire (Live) single was also released in the UK, Holland, Spain, and Australia.
