On 01 Sep 2001, Bruce joined Clarence Clemons and his band at the Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ, for a short encore to close the show. PINK CADILLAC was among the four songs on which Springsteen played, and the above lyrics are for that performance of the song.

A follow-up appearance planned (though unannounced) for the following night, 02 Sep 2001, was aborted due to a bomb scare.
