Uncirculating Darkness On The Edge Of Town early demo that could be recorded as early as Jan 1976 (read below).

Recent sources (Sandford - Point Blank) suggest that the track DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN itself was completely written in January 1976, and that demos of DAWN PATROL, FRANKIE, DRIFTERS BARRIO, and YOU'RE GONNA CRY were laid down at this time.

This information is somewhat corroborated by a recent item at auction which is a list for the album IV, in Bruce's handwriting which can be reliably dated to "early 1976".
