AJ master via JEMS
recording gear: unknown mics > unknown DAT recorder
It's hard to believe 20 years have passed since the start of the Joad/solo acoustic tour. I traveled down from Seattle to represent for JEMS at the Wiltern and recorded opening night. But for reasons I can't recall, while I attended the second night, it would appear I didn't record it.
This recording is a DAT clone off the master of another taper. My notes list his initials as AJ and for the life of me I can't recall who that is. AJ's recording is quite good, perhaps slightly farther back than my first night recording but more even and consistent in sound. Samples provided.
The setlist is identical to night one, save for the world premiere of what is as yet an unreleased Springsteen seduction narrative, "It's The Little Things That Count."
JS was there with me again and I thank him for our full LA adventure, as well as AJ, who made a fine recording and shared it with me way back when, and last but not least mjk5510 who keeps the trains running on time for JEMS.
