Of course the answer was yes. They have been out of the trading scene for a long time. In fact the recordings were still stored at their parent’s house. These cassettes may in fact, only have been played twice. When they first received them, they made a copy for trading and listening purposes and recently to share the recordings with us. When I first got into Springsteen in the 90's, Spectrum Night was one of my early favorite bootlegs. It still is. Lest we forget, around 20 years ago there weren't very many good recordings from the summer leg of the River tour in the trading pools. Thanks to generosity of folks like Mark Persic, the JEMS and others, there are much better recordings now in general circulation. For this particular recording, I can say that it is one if not two generations better than the source tape used by Crystal Cat. After many repeated listens to that release I know the flaws in and out. Most of them were playback issues. A swishing sound across the high end was the biggest issue. There also was some tape drag in a few spots. Those issues were probably accentuated by CC'c heavy-handed compression. Those issues are fixed here. There are couple of warts that CC removed. The left them because they make the show a little closer to complete. If this show somehow missed your collection in the past, don't pass it up this time. The summer leg of The River tour found Bruce and the band playing as tight as ever. The show clocks at just over 2 hours and 38 minutes. It was basically an hour shorter than the ones from the first leg of the tour. It’s simply just a couple of great hours of rock and roll. Thanks to the Anonymous Collector for reaching out and sharing these tapes. Hope you enjoy. From Brucbase Wiki: Roy plays "Once Upon A Time In The West" as a bridge between "The River" and "Badlands". An audience sign-request leads to an unusually-placed "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" opening the second set. Audience tape available on the Crystal Cat release 'Spectrum Night'.
