Bruce and the E Street Band seem to be out to erase the memory of the 1975 European stretch with shows that are tight and focused. So, I get pretty jazzed when a new recorder source comes my way for any shows on this leg of the tour. The Zurich stop is already well represented with four recording sources. The first source is released on CD 'Hallenstadion 81' (Winged Wheel). A second source was released on the 2 LP 'Hallenstadion Zurich' (Ocean Records) and CDR 'Rockin' All Over The World'. The third source is incomplete and release on the 1LP 'Live In Zurich'. A fourth source remains in limited circulation but does not appear to be one of the better quality sources. This release of a previously unknown 5th recording source comes from the DS Archives that keeps giving us surprise after surprise. It ranges from very good to excellent and is capture very close to the stage. I'm not going to get into which is the best source, they all have their place but I'd rate much of this show top of the stack. Which is the frustrating thing about it. Though the quality is never less than very good, it appears the taper may have had to compete for mic space within the crowd or the tapes aren't stable throughout because it is not steady quality from start to finish. The first hour or so of the show is not as dynamic and contains a touch of hiss that is not present in the rest of the show. The good news is the balance of the show is near excellent to excellent, close to the stage with plenty of punch...I've provided a variety of samples. Thanks as always to Dan and is selfless sharing of his deep archives with all of us to enjoy for years to come, please show him your gratitude in the comments. Artwork included... mjk5510
