Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Date: 1988-03-09 Venue: THE SPECTRUM Location: PHILADELPHIA, PA Source: Tape Man Joe Master Title: Tape Man Joe Master Volume 10 Sony WM D6C deck> Nakamichi Mic> TDK MA tapes> Master Tapes> Kenwood KX-4070 cassette deck> TDK-DA3826 standalone CD burner> EAC (Secure Mode)> CD Wave Editor (remove cuts)> Goldwave (fades, patching & file merging)> MAGIX audio cleaning lab> CD Wave Editor (track splits)> Trader's Little Helper (Flac Level 8, Align, Verify) This is the tenth master shared from Tape Man Joe's collection. So the story goes Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with a Nakamichi Mic (new for him in 1988) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them. This is only the second of Joe’s ten recordings shared so far, to previously circulate. The commonly circulated Tunnel of Brotherly Love boot, is a downstream copy of Joe's tape. All previously circulated versions sound too loud, as if at point someone raised the overall levels too high. There is a slight low-end distortion when the bass really kicks in. Such as the "slipping into the darkness" line at the end of Cover Me. Overall however this is a big upgrade over the previously circulating versions. After asking the usually suspects, Mjk5510 was the only one to know of a second recorder. Thanks to Mark for providing the patch for the obligatory tape flip between Roulette and Cover Me. As for the performance, the beginning of the Tunnel of Love will always be remembered for rather stagnate set lists. This was only the seventh show of the tour. This particular show featured the first tour premiere in five performances (Raise Your Hand). The four pack of I'm On Fire, One Step Up, Part Man Part Monkey and Walk Like A Man was a far cry from the bombastic second sets of the BITUSA tour. An extra long Detroit Medley that includes Sweet Souls Music and Shake clocks in at just over 14 minutes long. All shows in Philadelphia always seem to be just a notch above the rest. Bruce thanks the crowd for their support over the years. “It’s always nice to come back to a place that you have a little history with”. Thanks to Tape Man Joe for recording and sharing his tapes and G for transferring the files. 01.TUNNEL OF LOVE 02.BE TRUE 03.ADAM RAISED A CAIN 04.TWO FACES 05.ALL THAT HEAVEN WILL ALLOW 06.SEEDS 07.ROULETTE 08.COVER ME 09.BRILLIANT DISGUISE 10.SPARE PARTS 11.WAR 12.BORN IN THE U.S.A. 13.TOUGHER THAN THE REST 14.SHE'S THE ONE 15.YOU CAN LOOK (BUT YOU BETTER NOT TOUCH) 16.I'M A COWARD 17.I'M ON FIRE 18.ONE STEP UP 19.PART MAN, PART MONKEY 20.WALK LIKE A MAN 21.DANCING IN THE DARK 22.LIGHT OF DAY 23.BORN TO RUN 24.HUNGRY HEART 25.GLORY DAYS 26.LOVE ME TENDER 27.ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) 28.DETROIT MEDLEY - I HEAR A TRAIN - SWEET SOUL MUSIC - SHAKE 29.RAISE YOUR HAND Known faults: Tape Flip between Roulette and Cover Me.
