In 2005, Sony Japan reissued Bruce Springsteen's catalog (on CD) in mini-LP cardboard sleeves. The series consisted of 17 titles: all of Springsteen's studio and live albums up to and including "The Rising", minus the "Tracks" box set. The titles that were previously issued on vinyl in Japan (up to "Tunnel Of Love") included an obi strip based on the one that came with the first vinyl pressing of the respective album in Japan and the discs were uniformly red with black text and with orange Sony Music logos, mimicking the labels of 1980's Japanese vinyl issues. The titles that were not issued on vinyl in Japan featured newly designed obi strips and the discs mimicked the labels of the U.S. (and international) vinyl issues.
The "Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J." vinyl replica edition comes in a cardboard postcard gatefold sleeve based on the original U.S. vinyl release, including a picture inner sleeve reproducing Columbia's "The Inner Sleeve" issue 72A3/4 and a bilingual lyric leaflet. The obi strip is similar in design to the one that came with the first Japanese vinyl pressing of "Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J." Scans/Photos
