As far as I know, there are 5 versions of the Holland vinyl pressing of The River.

Version 1:
- Label: CBS
- Sleeve printed in Holland
- Inner sleeves material: cardboard
- "Held Up Without A Gun" error on inner sleeve track list
- Sunburst labels
- No asterisk on labels

- Sleeve printed in Holland
- Inner sleeves material: cardboard
- "Held Up Without A Gun" error on inner sleeve track list
- Sunburst labels
- Asterisk on labels
(same sleeve and inner sleeves as version 1)

Notes:

- I think I listed all the versions in the correct chronological order (version 1, then versions 2 and 3, then version 4, then version 5).

- A copy of version 2 on Discogs seems to have paper inner sleeves. More such copies should be obsereved before determining that such variant exists.

- Copies with disc 1 version 2 and disc 2 version 1 do exist. I've observed multiple such copies: a copy on Discogs and the promo stamped Sweden export mentioned below.

- Version 3 (discs made in Holland housed in sleeve printed in England) was likley made for the UK market, but such copies were also sold in at least France, as evenced by the French hype sticker found one some copies (see "Version 3, with French hype sticker" below).

- A copy of version 4 on Discogs seems to have cardbaord inner sleeves. More such copies should be obsereved before determining that such variant exists.

- Version 5 is a reissue from the 1990's and seems to have been exclusively sold by French retail chain Fnac.

- Please have a look at your copies and tell me if you have one that's any different from the ones I listed.


Variants:

Version 2, with Switzerland export:

Some copies of version 2 were exported to Switzerland. They have a Swiss yellow CBS price code sticker on the back sleeve.

Version 2, with hype sticker:

Some copies of version 2 have a gold and black hype sticker on the font sleeve.

Version 2, with hype sticker, Italy export:

Some copies of version 2 have a gold and black hype sticker on the font sleeve and were exported to Italy, as evidenced by a sticker on the back sleeve with the text "A", "AIDiF", "Associazione Importatori e Distributori Fonogrammi", and "Fonogramma Legittimamente Importato".

Version 2-1, promo stamped, Sweden export:

Some copies were exported for promotional use in Sweden. They have a promo stamp on the rear sleeve that reads "For Promotion Only - Not For Sale - CBS Records Sweden". On my copy, at least, disc 1 is version 2 and disc 2 is version 1.

Some copies of version 3 have a French hype sticker on the font sleeve.

Great find! I updated the list accordingly.

This is a 1990's reissue on the Columbia label. EMI Records sold its international rights to the Columbia trademark to Sony Corporation in 1990.

I'll be hunting for a copy of my own.

Updated post to include different variants with promo stamps and stickers.
