Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers' album version
Bill Deasy: | Go! |
Joe Grushecky: | Broken wheel, broken wheel |
I am so numb I cannot feel
Lost in a fog, can't tell what's real
This heart of stone will never heal
Tell me when someone will mend this broken wheel
Bill Deasy: | I am a man who is running away from his last chance |
Joe Grushecky: | And I'd like to think that I am a victim of my circumstance |
The police are on my trail
I got a story I will tell | |
Joe Grushecky: | Broken wheel |
Bill Deasy: | Broken wheel |
Joe Grushecky: | Broken wheel |
Bill Deasy: | Broken wheel |
Joe Grushecky: | I am so numb |
Grushecky and Deasy: | I cannot feel |
Joe Grushecky: | Lost in a fog |
Bill Deasy: | Lost in a fog |
Joe Grushecky: | Can't tell what's real |
Bill Deasy: | Can't tell what's real |
Joe Grushecky: | This heart of stone |
Grushecky and Deasy: | Will never heal |
And tell me when someone will mend this broken wheel
Bill Deasy: | We were driving home |
Down a back road that I knew so well
I heard his tires screeching right before he hit me
Like a freight train right out of hell
Yeah, she lay lifeless in the back
I had my hands around his neck
Bill Deasy: | Broken wheel |
Joe Grushecky: | Broken wheel |
Bill Deasy: | Broken wheel |
