Original The Yardbirds version
For your love
For your love
For your love
I give you everything and more, and that's for sure
For your love
I bring you diamond rings and things right to your door
For your love
To thrill you with delight, I give you diamonds bright
There'll be days that will excite
They'll make you dream of me at night
For your love
For your love
For your love
For your love, for your love
I would give the stars above
For your love, for your love
I would give you all I could
For your love
For your love
For your love
I'd give the moon if it were mine to give
For your love
I'd give the stars and the sun for I live
For your love
To thrill you with delight, I give you diamonds bright
There'll be days that will excite
They'll make you dream of me at night
For your love
For your love
For your love
For your love
FOR YOUR LOVE is a song written by Graham Gouldman and originally released by The Yardbirds as a single in 1965. The above lyrics are for the original The Yardbirds version of FOR YOUR LOVE as released in 1965.
Bruce Springsteen performed FOR YOUR LOVE with The Castiles in late 1965. See the below section for more details. Albee Tellone, sound manager on Springsteen's road crew from November 1972 to December 1973, confirmed that this was The Yardbirds cover and not a different song with the same title. "I can say it was definitely the song by the Yardbirds," he said. "We were all big fans of them in high school. All the teen bands played that song."
FOR YOUR LOVE is known to have been performed at least once in Bruce Springsteen's early years (pre-October 1972) in the autumn of 1965 in Monmouth County, NJ, with The Castiles. No audio recording of this show is known to exist. Very little is known about shows from this early period, and therefore, the song may have been played on some more dates.
