Live 29 Oct 1974 version
With her killer graces and her secret places that no boy can fill
With her hands on her hips, oh, and that smile on your lips because she knows that it kills me
Well, that soft French cream well she's a young boy's dream and all the girls want to rip her apart
But French cream don't soften her boots and French kisses do not soften her heart
Oh and that smile that shines upon me, one that burns just like the sun
Yeah, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one
Oh! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Well it was not distance and it was not length, well, no, that brought down the wonder girl
It was a date last night well and a lovers fight well, in a mixed up baby world
Though she was with me in New York the time they pushed me hard and I got beat
She ran, she left me wastin', baby, wastin' ohhh right there in the street
Oh, with a smile that shines upon me, one that burns just like the sun
She's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one
We hated her Ma, and we hated the Pop, hated the kids, and I hated them cops
I hated the lies and I hated the truth that run us down
Well, I hated that town, and what they did, I hated the way they made us live
I hated him and his fancy ways
And I hated you when you went away, oh!
Ohh she's the one, oh she's the one, oh she's the one, oh she's the one
Hiding in that corner, girl, where you hated me, say free, just like a child
Yeah back on your feet, come out into the street where the love was a danger and the love was wild
Remember all the movies, all the movies, baby, we'd go see
Trying to learn how to walk, talk, talk, rough, just like the heroes we thought we had to be
And your smile that smiled upon me, one that burns just like the sun
Yeah she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one
Oh! Hey! Whoah!
Oh, she's the one!
Whoah!
Whoah, she's the one!
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah!
Whoah, she's the one!
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whaoh!
Oh, she's the one!
Hey! Whoah! Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah! Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah!
Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
