The song was played in its traditional full-band arrangement, with Bruce Springsteen on vocals, backed by Roy Bittan on keyboards, Max Weinberg on drums, Tommy Sims on bass and harmony vocals, and Bobby King on harmony vocals.
That year, STREETS OF PHILADELPHIA won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Video From A Film. It was also nominated in the Best Male Video category.
