A MESSAGE TO COLLECTORS

I have set up a private discussion forum for serious Bruce Springsteen record and CD collectors. The goal of this forum is not to replace the Greasy Lake collectors subforum or the Facebook collectors group, but an alternative to these back-and-forth emails I have been exchanging with some collectors concerning in-depth discussion about certain Springsteen collectibles.

If you are interested, register on the forum and separately send me an email telling me who you are and what is your username so that I can approve your registration. I cannot explain everything here in this short message, so please let me know by email if you have any questions or comments.

Info

War
War Label version 1, non-laminated picture sleeve
Label (Cat #): CBS (650193 7)
Format: 7"
Country: UK
Release date (Original year): 1986 (1986)
I have 5 copies
A1- WAR [Live]
B1- MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY [Live]

Comes in a non-laminated picture sleeve. This is label version 1.

Two different label designs exist and they have many distinctive features, most notably:
- Label version 1 has the vertical "BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND" breaks into two lines between "SPRINGSTEEN" and "&" and as "LC 0149" above the "650193 7" catalogue number
- Label version 2 has the vertical "BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND" breaks into two lines between "&" and "THE" and has no "LC 0149"

Copies #4 and #5: There are several UK 45s like this one around. These are not "genuine" large-center copies, but regular small-center ones with the center holes subsequently enlarged for jukebox use. On some releases this causes some of the text on the labels to be cropped off. Most if not all Springsteen releases with enlarged center holes were created by third parties, mainly jukebox distributors. However, it is possible that CBS Records may have enlarged some themselves for particular distributors as it would be easier for them to do it.
