THE GODFATHER LOVE THEME is an instrumental composed by Nino Rota for the soundtrack of the 1972 film The Godfather. A version with lyrics, written by Larry Kusik and titled "Speak Softly Love (Love Theme from The Godfather)", was released on the film's eponymous 1972 soundtrack album.
Bruce Springsteen's Version
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band have never performed THE GODFATHER LOVE THEME in full, but Steven Van Zandt played a snippet of it on the guitar during his band introduction in ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) on 06 Mar 1977 in Jacksonville, FL, and also as his solo during TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT on 11 Jun 1999 in Genoa, Italy.
