Let's get everybody's hired, let's get everybody on stage. Excellent singing. Now this is a song about ancient history. I don't mean about the Mesopotamians, or the Trojans, or the uh, or the uh, or the Italians, or the stuff that you, that you learn here in school, I'm not talking about that kind of thing. I'm talking about personal stuff. I mean the kind of stuff that, that you're gonna read in the National Enquirer after I die. Or, or if my girlfriend gets mad at me while I'm still alive. ??? (chuckles). You see, when I was a kid, like I was interested in three things. When I was about 13, 14, I got interested in playing pool, cause my father was real good at it, his grandfather was real good at it. So, I was interested in the guitar, and then the other thing I was interested in was uh, uh, uh, uh you know, that one, that one, that one. Yeah. So like when I was in, one Christmastime, my mother took me to Sears and for 69.95 she got me this little pooltable, and like it fit just right in my bedroom. So like I'd bring my girlfriends over and I would say to my father: "Dad uh, we're gonna go up in my bedroom and play pool a little bit". And you know, but the kitchen that he used to sit in was right underneath my bedroom. So, if he didn't hear the poolballs knocking around, and if he didn't hear the guitar playing, he had a broomstick that he would bang on the ceiling. Yeah. But I kind of had it all figured out like I used to pull the pooltable way over close to the bed and every once in a while, like I'd lean up and knock the balls around little bit. Don't tell nobody do this stuff! (chuckles). But anyway, as I matured, I got older anyway (chuckles), I gave up pool, and of the other two, the guitar is the only one I became proficient at. But the third one, I'm still looking for some volunteers who wanna practice, practice, practice. I, I gotta get this down, I gotta get it down (chuckles). Anyway, that's my glory days, and in the end all things must pass, so let me tell my story. Are you ready band? Alright, alright, alright, here we go. Ready people? (crowd: Yeah)
Well you see, I had this friend, he was a big baseball player back in high school
And man, he could throw that speedball by you, make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar, I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside, sat down, had a few drinks, but all he kept talking about was
Glory days
Yeah they'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Well now there's this girl, well she lives up the block, but back in school she could turn all the boys' heads
Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by and have a few drinks with her after she put her kids to bed
Her and her husband Bobby, well they split up I guess, I guess about two years gone by now
Well we just sit around talking about the old times, she says when she feels like crying, she starts laughing thinking about
Glory days
Yeah they'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Alright, let's rock that clock now
Whoa!
Think I'm going down to the well tonight and I'm gonna drink till I get my fill
Well I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it, but I probably will
Yeah just sitting back trying to recapture a little of the glory of
Well the time slips away and leaves you with nothing mister but boring stories of
Glory days
They'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
They'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Alright!
Oh yeah! (crowd: Oh yeah)
Alright! (crowd: Alright)
Oh yeah! (crowd: Oh yeah)

Say alright! (crowd: Alright)
Come on now! (crowd: Come on now)
Alright! (crowd: Alright)
Ahh come on boys keep on rocking now
Don't ever be stopping
Don't let me down now
Because I can hear that big clock ticking away, every minute of my life, everyday (oh yeah)
It says Boss, you're 30 (aha), 31 (oh yeah), 32 (oh my God), 33 (oh no), 34 (what), 35 (oh no)
Thirty (what), thirty (what), thirty (what)
Alright! (Alright)
Oh yeah! (Oh yeah)
Alright! (Alright)
Come on now! (Oh yeah)
Alright! (Alright)
Oh yeah! (Oh yeah)
Alright! (Alright)
Ah let's dance! (Whoa)
I don't wanna grow up, ever
