Live 15 Oct 1988 version
Alright man!
(Alright)
Bamos!
Well
I had a friend was a big baseball player back in high school
He could throw that speedball by you, make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar, I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside, sat down, had a few drinks, all he kept talking about was
Glory days
Yeah they'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
There's a girl, she lives up the block, back in school she could turn all the boys' heads
Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by, have a few drinks with her after she put her kids to bed (alright)
Her and her husband Bobby, they split up, must be about, four years gone by now
We just sit around talking about the old times, she says when she feels like crying, she starts laughing thinking about
Glory days
They'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Oh rock that thing
???
Hey man!
On the guitar and vocals Miss Patti Scialfa
On the piano professor Roy Bittan
On the organ David Sancious
On the guitar the great Nils Lofgren
On the drums mighty Max Weinberg
On the guitar Garry W Tallent
On the organ madman Dan Federici
And last but not least on the saxophone Clarence big man Clemons
I think I'm going down to the well tonight, I'm gonna drink untill I get my fill
I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it, but I probably will
Yeah just sitting back trying to recapture a little of the glory of
Time slips away and leaves you with nothing mister but boring stories of
Glory days
Yeah they'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Yeah they'll pass you by, glory days
In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
Glory days
Alright!
Ooh yeah!
Well alright!
Come on now!
Well alright!
Oh yeah! (Oh yeah)
Rock that thing now!

The above lyrics are for the live 15 Oct 1988 performance of GLORY DAYS at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the Amnesty International Human Rights Now! Tour. The song featured a guest appearance by David Sancious.
The Amnesty International Human Rights Now! Tour was a worldwide series of twenty benefit concerts on behalf of Amnesty International that took place over six weeks in September and October 1988. The concerts were held not to raise funds but to increase awareness of Amnesty International and to publicize the 40th anniversary of the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights (UDHR). They were billed as "A Concert For Human Rights Now!" and featured Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, and Youssou N'dour.
The 15 Oct 1988 show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was the last date of the Amnesty International Human Rights Now! Tour. It took place at River Plate Stadium and was broadcast worldwide live on the radio. Video segments were broadcast as part of "The Human Right Now Tour" documentary which debuted on 10 Dec 1988 on HBO in the United States, WDR in West Germany, and other TV channels around the world.
The 15 Oct 1988 broadcast from Buenos Aires (Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's set) was commercially released in Europe. Since 2005 some enterprising record labels in Europe (mostly in the UK) have been releasing Bruce Springsteen radio and TV broadcasts (and some soundboard recordings) from the seventies, eighties, and nineties. Though these releases are not authorized by Bruce Springsteen or his record company, they are lawful due to a legal loophole in Europe.
