Live 26 May 2013 version
[Spoken intro:] Glückwunsch zum championship!
Well long as I remember, yeah the rain's been pouring down
Clouds of mystery pouring, confusion on the ground
Well good men through the ages, they try to find the sun
Lord I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain
Went down to Virginia seeking shelter from the storm
Caught up in the fable, we'd watch the tower grow
Well five year plans and new deals, yeah wrapped in golden chains
And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain
Well I heard the singer playing, yeah how we cheered for more
The crowd they'd rush together, yeah just trying to keep warm
But still the rain kept pouring, falling through the years
And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain
And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain
The above lyrics are for the live 26 May 2013 performance of WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN at Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany, during the Wrecking Ball Tour. The song was the show opener and was played in a solo acoustic guitar and harmonica arrangement. FC Bayern München's soccer team had won the UEFA Champions League final the previous day. Kicking off the show, Springsteen congratulated the champions, shouting in German "Glückwunsch zum championship!" ("Congratulations on the championship!" in English).
